"Spirit of the Wolf", "Anguished Spirit" and "The Old Man" are all natural patterns appearing in decomposing blow down trees near Mt. St. Helens in Washington. These were trees which were destroyed during the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. Thirty two years later, their "spirits" live on.

"Multnomah Man" was taken at Multmomah Falls, Columbia Gorge, Oregon.
